STANDARD OPERATIONS FLEET
BASIC LIFE SUPPORT
Rapid Emergency Ambulance
Volkswagen Crafter · RZP
Series-production ambulances proven across Czech and international emergency services. The patient compartment features a purpose-built interior with vital-signs monitor, mechanical ventilator, oxygen therapy, and electro-hydraulic stretcher for safe, comfortable transport. A reinforced climate system maintains optimal conditions for both patient care and medication storage. Two-person crews — comprising paramedics or a paramedic and an EMS driver — independently handle up to 90% of all incidents.

ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT · PHYSICIAN RESPONSE
Rapid Medical Response Vehicle
Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 CDI · RLP
A physician and EMS driver or paramedic respond in a fast-response car, meeting the ambulance crew at scene under the rendezvous system. In most cases, physician escort during transport is not required, allowing specialist medical resources to be deployed more efficiently. Up to 6 RLP units operate in Prague on weekdays. Average response time for the highest-priority calls is under 8 minutes.

PATIENT TRANSPORT SERVICE
Medical Transport Vehicle
Volkswagen Crafter · ZDS
Two-person crews are dispatched by the medical operations centre for patients not in immediate danger to life but requiring transport to hospital for further treatment or assessment, without needing emergency pre-hospital care. Vehicles operate 24/7 and carry mandatory equipment — oxygen, dressings, AED — plus an automatic blood pressure monitor, glucometer, and pulse oximeter.

COMMAND & CONTROL
Inspector Command Vehicle
Volkswagen Touareg 3.0
Inspectors support routine operations and lead the medical component at non-standard situations and major incidents. Their command vehicles carry a full medical equipment suite equivalent to a standard ambulance, supplemented by an extended range of specialist pharmaceuticals, hazardous-materials detection instruments, and incident-management equipment.

AIR RESCUE · KRYŠTOF 01
HEMS · HELICOPTER EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE
Air Rescue Unit
Eurocopter EC-135 T2 · KRYŠTOF 01
Flight operations for the EC-135 T2, with a two-pilot crew, are provided by the Czech Police Air Service. The medical crew — one physician and one paramedic from ZZS HMP or ZZS SCK — operates one aircraft per day, 24/7, covering Prague and the Central Bohemian Region. At night the unit operates across virtually the entire Czech Republic. With over 800 missions per year, the helicopter dramatically shortens the journey to specialist centres and saves lives where road response cannot.

SPECIAL OPERATIONS FLEET
ALL-TERRAIN MASS CASUALTY
Atego – Dakar
Mercedes-Benz Atego 926AF
A proven off-road vehicle whose predecessor served ZZS HMP for ten years and was deployed at virtually every major incident. The current Atego, in service in Prague since 2024, accommodates 8 patients on stretchers or 12 seated, all receiving oxygen therapy. Deployed at fires and other major incidents, it also provides evacuation capability in terrain inaccessible to standard ambulances.

HOSPITAL EVACUATION SPECIALIST
Atego – Fénix
Mercedes-Benz Atego 1221
An evacuation specialist with a fold-out loading platform, capable of transporting up to 12 patients on stretchers or 3 patients in hospital beds — including ICU and high-dependency patients with full life-support equipment. Oxygen therapy is available throughout. Fénix proved critical during the COVID-19 pandemic, transporting dozens of patients from overwhelmed regional hospitals. Together with GOLEM, it was deployed at the 2023 Charles University Faculty of Arts mass-shooting incident.

MASS CASUALTY · FORWARD OPERATING BASE · WORLD UNIQUE
Module GOLEM
Mercedes-Benz Actros 963-4-E
At 16 metres in length, GOLEM is the undisputed flagship of the ZZS HMP fleet — and a world-unique capability in service since 2006, with a new and more powerful tractor unit added in 2020. When deployed at high-casualty-potential events, GOLEM can simultaneously treat up to 12 casualties on intensive-care beds. It can also function independently as a forward paramedic base for extended operations, as demonstrated during the aftermath of the 2021 Moravia tornado. In emergencies, the module can also expand hospital emergency department capacity.

TECHNICAL & LOGISTICS
Technical Support Vehicle
Iveco Daily 70C18HA8
Loaded from floor to ceiling with everything from pickaxes to satellite communications, the Iveco enables crews to establish a fully equipped base of operations at the incident site. It carries up to 6 personnel and is equipped with a power generator, rotating lighting mast, site-monitoring camera, an extensive tool inventory, and medical supplies. ZZS HMP deployed it in international assistance during wildfires in Greece and the Jesenik-region floods. It is regularly deployed at large public events to support medical coverage.

ALL-TERRAIN LIGHT RESPONSE
Polaris Ranger
Polaris Ranger 1000 XP EPS
The Polaris Ranger runs in 4×2 by default, switchable to full 4×4, and serves primarily for transporting personnel and equipment to difficult-to-reach locations — rough terrain, winding city streets, or dense crowd events. Its compact footprint is a key advantage over standard ambulances. With the ambulance add-on module, the Ranger can transport a patient on a stretcher. ZZS HMP has deployed it supporting Czech firefighters in Greece, during the Jesenik floods, and repeatedly at major sporting and public events in the capital.

OFF-ROAD RESPONSE
INEOS Grenadier
INEOS Grenadier
The Grenadier is deployed for transporting personnel and equipment to hard-to-reach locations and can be rapidly reconfigured for safe patient extraction from terrain to a road-accessible point. It can tow a trailer carrying the Polaris ATV plus additional equipment. The vehicle provides 360° area illumination, is equipped for self-recovery by the crew, and can be fully kitted to the same standard as a rapid emergency ambulance.

RECOVERY & EVACUATION
Recovery & Evacuation Specialist EVA
Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 906BB50
EVA is dispatched primarily to mass-casualty events — fires, smoke-filled premises, chemical spills — and for evacuating care homes and facilities serving people with disabilities. Its more compact dimensions give it an advantage in urban environments. EVA accommodates up to 12 seated patients for basic examination and oxygen or IV therapy, up to 3 lying patients, or a combination of both. The vehicle is also adapted for safe loading and securing of passengers in wheelchairs.
